This instrument is designed to be used manually to cut through bone. It offers many advantages over drills or mechanical tools such as increased sensitivity to adjust the level of force. Additionally this osteotome has the added benefit of featuring calibration lines. This osteotome is available in twelve widths in a straight profile as well as two widths in a curve profile. A full set of ten featuring straight and curved profiles is also available.

Osteotomes have the added benefit of being operated manually and thus the pressure can be adjusted readily as cuts are created and continued through bone. Additionally this osteotome does not have calibration lines. It is available in a vast array of sizes ranging form 4.0 mm to 50 mm and in either a straight or curved profile making them well suited for a wide array of surgical scenarios and surgeon preferences.
U.S. Army Pattern Chisel
straight, 6-1/4" (16.0 cm)Â US Army Pattern Gouge is a specialized instrument designed for removal of specific segments of bone. This gouge is designed similarly to a chisel but the blade portion features a curvature to it allowing it to be used to scoop up segments.
