This instrument is especially useful aortic aneurysm repairs of the abdominal and thoracic aorta particularly this clamp can be used in accessing the portion of the aorta that is found superior to the celiac artery. Curved shanks coupled with a 60 degree angle and DeBakey teeth allow this clamp to access some deeper vessel structures without damaging the vessel walls or the surrounding tissue.

This clamp can be used to clamp vessels to reduce or stop blood flow to prevent the patient from losing an excessive amount of blood. This clamp features jaws that are calibrated at 5.0 mm intervals but are still delicate enough for use in pediatric surgeries. This instrument is designed to keep a firm hold on the vessels that are being occluded but delicate enough not to bruise or tear the vessels thus reducing the amount of damage done to the patient. This clamp is available in a number of different styles that include straight or angled shanks and straight, satinsky, angled, or spoon-shaped jaws making this instrument highly versatile and useful in the operating room.
